Our regularly scheduled tours are offered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting on Monday, April 1, 2024. Our tours are held at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 2:00 pm and last approximately 90 minutes.
We are excited to announce that we have selected a date for our upcoming Black History Lecture and Lunch. Save Saturday, February 24th, 2024 for this program. Additional details are coming soon.
Tour Guide/Museum Educator is needed 2-3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM) with an occasional weekend day for special events. You will guide visitors through on-site historical buildings sharing information on the life and political career of Governor David Stone, his home and furnishings and the Native American, African American and European inhabitants of the area. Training will be provided. A love of history and interest in the tri-cultural heritage of the area would be ideal. On Saturday, April 29th, Reid Thomas, Restoration Specialist with the Restoration Services Branch of the State Preservation Office, and a member of our Friends Committee, will speak on Exploring Historic Graffiti and Folk Magic in Northeastern North Carolina’s Early Architecture. Most people are unaware that examples of historic graffiti can be found on the King-Bazemore house.
Please register and pay by April 24th. $20 per person which includes Presentation and Lunch.
