Living History Day

We will have lots of activities for people of all ages. Get a chance to visit encampments of Confederate and Federal troops and observe what camp life must have been like. See demonstrations of weaving, spinning, glassblowing, and other period activities. This event is free of charge. Tours of the mansion are available for a fee of only $8.00 per person.

“What's in the Hope Collection; an overview of the important decorative arts collection of the Historic Hope Foundation.” The 2019 Ives Lecture will bring back to light the incredible collection found at Hope Plantation. This open discussion format will highlight the more important pieces we have, and will hopefully shed light on what is one of the most incredible collections found in the south. We will be looking closely at locally made furnishings from the 18th and 19th century, and discussing their interesting histories.
