Come out and join us for our 12th Annual Family History and Genealogy Fair on Saturday, July 29th from 9:30 am – 1:30 pm. The purpose of the program is to discuss the diverse origins of families in Bertie County from the late 16th century to their current genealogical connections throughout America. This year the topic is “The 249th Anniversary Celebration of the Edenton Tea Party”.
Registration and continental breakfast begins at 9:30 am. Introductions and the program run from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm with lunch immediately following the conclusion of our program.
This year’s program guest speakers are:
J. Annette Wright – “Bertie County Women and the Edenton Tea Party: The First Recorded Women’s Political Demonstration in America”
James Moore, President, Murfreesboro Historical Commission – “Sally’s Family Place: Her NC Roanoke-Chowan Area Ancestral Tales”
Dr. Walt Wolfram, William C. Friday, Distinguished University Professor, N. C. State University – “Talkin’ Tar Heel: Celebrating North Carolina’s Linguistic Heritage”
