Historic Hope Foundation’s Women’s History Month program will be presented Saturday March 25th, 2017 from 9:30 am – 5 pm in the Roanoke Chowan Heritage Center on the Historic Hope campus, 132 Hope House Road, Windsor, NC, 27983.
There is no cost for the program; however, lunch tickets are $15.00. Donations are welcome.
The program will focus around food and foodways across communities. Presenters include Nicole Moore, Museum Educator, Interpreting Slave Life and the Center for Civil and Human Rights, Atlanta, GA; and Nancie McDermott, author of Southern Soups and Stews. Copies of Ms. McDermott’s book will be available for purchase.
The event will conclude with a recreation of a tea party from the early 1800’s. Educators qualify for CEUs following the NC Standards for Social Studies Curriculum.
